Our Practices

Remaining proudly independent

At a time when many equine practices have been bought by large corporations, NEH has remained proudly independent. We believe this allows us to continue our legacy of comprehensive, dedicated and personalised care to our clients. As part of this professional culture, we have recently formed close associations with a number of like-minded practices in the UK, Ireland and France.

NEH Cotswolds (NEHC), set up by Tom Campbell in 2023 to provide comprehensive veterinary services across the Cotswolds area. Since opening, Tom has been joined by 3 further veterinarians including two with specialism in Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. All the NEHC vets are accredited under the FEI and are familiar faces on the eventing and show jumping circuits.

NEH Chantilly has been formed in an exciting collaboration with Lucile Falque, an established and well regarded vet in the Chantilly region. This growing practice covers racing trainers in the heart of French racing. We have worked with Lucile for several years, representing each other’s practices at UK/French sales. We share the same values and standards, and look forward to working even closer together going forward.

We are excited about these ventures with some exceptional vets and are pleased to be able to offer the same top quality veterinary services further afield than our traditional Newmarket base. Please see below for contact details for these practices, alternatively contact the NEH Office.

NEH Cotswolds was established in 2023 to provide a specialised veterinary service for competition horses in order to optimise performance through . A comprehensive service is available to support our patients, owners, trainers and grooms in helping to achieve the best possible athletic results.

NEH Cotswolds covers Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire predominantly, but the team will also travel further afield for pre-purchase evaluations, competition cover and for clients who wish to benefit from the extensive experience the NEH Cotswolds team collectively has to offer. The NEHC members work closely together to ensure a complete approach is achieved for every patient, utilising both our clinic location and 'on the road' point of care. The practice has digital and wireless radiography and ultrasonography available, as well as shockwave, class IV laser therapy, gastroscopy and upper respiratory tract endoscopy. Acupuncture and chiropractic treatments are also available, alongside provision of bespoke rehabilitation plans.

Set up by Tom Campbell, the practice has evolved to now include Jodie Daglish, Ali Butler and Sam Offord who bring forward superb skills across the board for elite athletes, competing Nationally and Internationally. Ali and Sam are both FEI Official Veterinarians, while Tom and Jodie are FEI Permitted Treating Veterinarians, meaning that all four vets are familiar faces on the eventing and show jumping circuits. Jodie and Sam are both also diplomates of the American College of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, which gives the team a greater depth and scientific basis to the provision of care the team are able to offer.

Orthopaedic Surgery

Orthopaedics is the largest surgical discipline at NEH and concerns principally joints and bones, with the most common procedures including arthroscopic surgery and fracture repair.

Internal Medicine

Conditions treated by our internal medicine team include diseases of the airways, heart, intestines, liver, kidneys and circulatory system.

Soft Tissue Surgery

The major disciplines in equine soft tissue surgery include abdominal (colic) surgery, airway, and urogenital surgery.

Colic

Colic is one of the most common surgical emergencies in the horse, and success revolves around a highly trained rapid response team.

Wind Surgery & Breathing Problems

Breathing problems are a surprisingly common cause of poor performance in the horse.

Diagnostic Imaging

Diagnostic imaging is a term used to describe methods which allow us to visualise structures and activities inside the body.

Lameness & Poor Performance

We understand the frustrations involved when a horse’s ability to perform at expected levels is impaired. Our experienced clinicians can systematically assess the potential causes and advise on treatment.

Rehabilitation

An athletic injury can result in a prolonged period out of training with consequential physical restrictions for the whole horse.

Dentistry

Equine dental disease manifests in numerous ways, from difficulty in eating and nasal discharge to more subtle bitting and performance-related issues.
