Purpose built in 2008
The hospital was a completely new, purpose built project which opened its doors in 2008. The vets heavily inputted to the design from start to finish, to make sure not only that it was a first class hospital facility, but also that it was built with practicality in mind and with the aim of a smooth flow through the hospital for both horses and their owners.
For our equine patients, there are over 80 boxes within American Barns, individual stable rows, the intensive care unit and isolation unit. Multiple examination rooms, some with stocks and others with specialist imaging equipment. Two theatres with 4 induction and recovery boxes. An imaging suite including MRI and Nuclear Scintigraphy. A forge. Multiple trot up areas including two lunge rings and a full size arena. For our clients there is a reception area with tea and coffee facilities, open plan offices for our staff with conference and meeting rooms.
